Being that they come when you are online, we do not send support to aid in these attacks. They are set up for you to practice defending. You may of course ask in game for guidance, send reports for tips and advice, but any loss is not going to wipe you out as they are small attacks set to levels.
Defending tips
Do not panic. You usually have at least 30 minutes to get your ducks in a row. You will see how many troops are coming, then at 20 minutes you should see what is coming. The RBC are not the swiftest of attackers and usually just become an annoyance. If you are under level 25 never do the spy camp event and turn off the attacks for a week because you need the practice. Send any losses to an officer to analysis
Once you are winning these you may chose to do the spy camp event.
As a bottom line the attacks are there to give you coins and XP points. They also can cause misery. It's the time I have to take out good tools and put in my wooden ones, it's a reason for me not to always have my ideal defense set up in place. It has on a few occasions occurred where I reset my defense to have minimal to no losses during the attack and I FORGET to reset to my optimum, advised default set up. Resulting in an attack from a player who regularly stalks...I mean spies certain castles waiting for a chance to attack. Thus being offline and losing said attack.
There are times I just would rather lose a few more troops then take the time to set and then reset. It's a matter of time you have to be on when you see the attack coming, with the need of those troops.
Attacking tips for all NPC
The levels have the same make up for RBCs and Towers. All level 19, 2 attacks to 20 are the same. You should keep track of their defense formations for yourself. There are other alliance's sites that have ever single report at 100% in all kingdoms. I will not be doing that work putting them on here. Contact me in game if you want their links.
I think that doing a spy report, now that they are very fast is a good idea because factors do change because of commanders. The links are useful if you cannot get 100% or are broke and need to do this attack to get loot and coins. A good suggestions is to keep 4 RBCs on the same level, so you only have to spy one time and they attack them all together.
The RBC will give you many different varieties of defense set ups, using different tools and troops. You will sometimes see defense set ups with attackers. Don't be fooled into thinking that sending defenders is the way to attack that castle. Always remember that troops have specific jobs, an attacker attacks, a defender defends. Let them do what they were designed for.
As you attack your levels increase. You can achieve rubies, coins and equipment in addition to resources from RBC, the higher the level the better the prize. There are also achievements for the levels you reach. Attacking NPC is a great source of revenue. Hitting them regularly will replace collecting taxes as your main source of revenue.
Desert Tower level 45
In this attack I will use only resource tools and veteran attackers which the resource player will have access to without purchasing any rubies. The spy reports have been analyzed below.
The first thing I think of when I see a mixture of melee and ranged defenders is do I have enough tool slots to reduce their ranged defenders by a significant amount?
In this battle I have put suicide troops in wave 1 for the left and front flanks as I will be utilizing mantlets in to reduce the ranged defenders power. In the right flank, there are only melee defenders so mantlets will do nothing on them. Here you make a choice, would you rather use 3 extra ladders to take down the wall or use a troop as a suicide troop. Since it is minimal, I sent 3 more wooden ladders.
1st wave
1st Wave: suicide troops for the left and front flanks. On the right flank, I have sent ranged troops to defeat the melee troops and enough ladders to take down the wall. I am really not thinking about the citizens they are not a threat.
2nd wave
Note: I have switched commanders to a looting/finding better equipment specialist, Instead of the previous 66% it is now 70% of the wall. The right flank increased to 95 from 91 so I will add another ladder so that the 5% is gone. You will make the choices as to what is your goal. There is a renegade spy event at the moment, which helped me choose, whereas one with a strong melee/ranged bonus would result in less loses.2nd Wave: I am using all my slots for mantlets to reduce the ranged defense by 100%, there will be 25% left and and the wall bonus of 75%. I am not very concerned as vet macemen significantly over power ranged defenders. I could reduce the ranged defenders to 0% using 13 iron mantlets and then 7 ladders to take down the wall. I would have less troop loss, but my priorities are different. I am not a ruby buyer so I chose not to spend them and will use a portion of my coins I receive to recruit. Whereas a ruby buyer might value troop and coin loss more than rubies.
3rd wave
4th Wave: I will send some troops just for extra loot. If you don't have 4 waves you can use the left and right flanks to send more troops to collect extra loot. Let's see how it goes.
I did receive my relic piece so it was worth it to me to switch up commanders. I will give examples of he same level attack using different types of commanders to show the variance. Sometimes you will get rubies, this time no. However disappointing is the garbage piece of rare equipment I received using a find better items commander.
Espionage Reports
Learning to read and analysis an espionage report is one of the best skills to have and they are more valuable for NPC (non-player castles) than player castles because they don't change.
Make sure that you can acquire as many spies as your level allows you to. This means building 3 taverns and upgrading to level 3. You can have 15 that way and an additional 5 through research. You want to always want to aim for accuracy on NPC. This is different from player castles because you can try again if you miss it. With player castles, since things change you want to aim for less chance to get caught but just an idea of their defense wall set-up and tools available.
Don't go the cheap route sending 1 or 2 spies with 30% chance of getting caught. Send them all and get it to 100% on the 1 or 2nd go. The spies are now very speedy so this should not be an issue.
Desert Tower attack
It used to be a plan not to send them all and get a lower accuracy so that you could send more than one mission out at the same time. Now it's not an issue. Go for 100%.
Nearly double the coins but worth it. Seconds later I have my report:
My biggest concern are tools for this attack. I can see that I have 5. On the left the 2 fire arrows will increase the tower's ranged defense by 25% each and there are only ranged defenders there so that is an issue for me. The center has only 2 defensive rocks which add 25% to the wall, and there is one on the right flank. This tower has no gate bonus so that is a good thing.
The 100% report was nice enough to show me the break up in waves. Not always able to get 100% so lets break it down.
The Left flank = 50% ranged bonus on 1 wave.
The Front = 25% wall bonus on waves 1 and 2
The Right flank = 25% bonus on wave 1
First you can check the castellan bonus:
+25% ranged, + 26% melee
Notice how the ranged bonus is actually 175% defense, That us the base 100% + 25% castellan, + 2 fire arrows, equaling 50% added. This is how you know it's only 1 wave of tools as the 2 are used at once. This will help you know where the tools are when there are no spy reports (as in The Thorn King and Blades Coast events) Let's prove it by looking at the other flanks. In the right flank we are told from the 100% spy report that there is only 1 tool- 1 defensive rock, which equals a 25% bonus,
We know that the wall with the castellan is 66% from the left flank which has no wall tools.
With 1 defensive rocks, the wall at the right flank is now 91% that is 66% + 25% = 91
Next we will go ahead and look at the front, which has 2 tools, 2 defensive rocks = 50%
From this report I still only see 91%. Shouldn't I see 116%? Since 2 rocks are 50% + the 66% wall with the castellan bonus. I would if there were two rocks used in this wave. But since it is only 91% I know for sure that there are tools in the 2nd wave.
Now that I know where the tools are I will plan my attack.
Spy reports- This site does have all the spy reports available to save you time. I advise you to spend t he coins and time (fast now) to spy to pick the right commander. However it's handy if you have a bunch you normally do and to check and see which one is a good one for you at the moment.
