Storm Island

The new kingdom - Overview

  • Players from level 35 can unlock a new kingdom: The Storm Islands.
  • Each player will have his own island and will send his troops with the help of ships.
  • When starting the kingdom you will be given a castle with a few buildings, some upgrades will have been done and a few decorations.
  • With a new rare commodity the members of an alliance can EARN points together.
  • To earn strong REWARDS here the cooperation of the whole alliance is required. The leader of the best alliance of the server will become the Storm Lord.
  • Each member may, regardless of the level, contribute through their activity towards victory.

The new commodity - Aquamarine

  • In the New Kingdom there is a very sought after commodity to capture: The aquamarine.
  • As in any other kingdom, raw materials and troops can be sent to and from the island kingdom.
  • Aquamarine can be captured from the native NPC’s or from other players. This activity is REWARDED.
  • In the sea there are also resource islands. If a player they conquers one of these islands, it must then be protected for a period of time. When this time has expired, the troops return to the castle with a lush stockpile of resources.
  • Resource islands work differently than resource villages, since they only have a few hours before they disappear and show up again after some time in a different location.

Storm Island is like the other kingdoms: ICE, SAND, and FIRE, except that it resets every month. Once you pay your entry fee you will see your castle is semi-built. You may continue to build your castle, however, your goal is to collect and convert Aquamarine ( Aqua ). This is a team event and the primary goal is to convert the Aqua into Cargo Points for the alliance so that we can get rewards that benefit the alliance. Rewards range from Coins and RUBIEs ( for the alliance ) to Upgrade Tokens, Construction Tokens, and Sceats ( for each player who has entered Storm ).

As an alliance we will go south ( IF we are given a choice ) as we do so when going to other kingdoms. It is a tradition we will hold onto in Storm Island. If our alliance grows in size we will break up and enter in different directions so as not to have to compete with each other for Resources Islands and Storm Forts.

Main Job Functions:

RIA- Resource Island Attacker
CBB- Cargo Boat Builder
SFA - Storm Fort Attacker

It is beneficial when entering Storm Island to know your function for this event. In Storm there are Resource Islands which provide resources of Wood, Stone, and Aqua. They require occupation time. The Resource Islands are well defended and you will need RUBY tools to attack them. They produce the most Aqua in a lump sum after the occupation time has ended. There are also Storm Forts that you can attack to get resources and Aqua. You must have storage large enough to hold the Aqua that will be returning with your ship. ( Covered more in Castle Set-Up )

Resource Island occupation time of   6 hours produces 11k Aqua
Resource Island occupation time of 18 hours produces 53k Aqua

Resource Islands have 4 waves of tools for defense. You cannot use suicide waves.

If you believe you have the RUBY access to capture RIs then you would sign up as an RIA ( Resource Island Attacker ). Your main job would be to capture and hold Resource Islands, of course you would build Cargo Boats to covert your Aqua to Cargo Points also.

If you don't have access to a lot of RUBY tools you can attack the Storm Forts for Aqua and convert them to Cargo Points yourself. The Storm Forts are levels from 10 to 80 increasing in difficulty and more Aqua. It is highly advised that you have Marauders if you are going to be a SFA, because it greatly increase your Aqua recovery.

Up to level 40, you will have options to use suicide waves.

Level 40 has 3 waves of tools
Level 30 has 2 waves of tools
Level 20 has 1 wave of tools

Here is a picture of an attack to an Aqua Storm Fort. Your Ship heads out to sea and the Resource Islands are also visible below.

Note: We don't attack other players or attack a Resource Island that another player is already occupying. You will see a notification that someone else is there already.

Because Food is so valuable and difficult to maintain enough of, a server-wide unwritten rule is put forth that you don't attack others ( unless in war ), because it's not possible to hold defenders and attackers simultaneously without running out of Food. It's like the gentlemen's agreement with RVs in the other kingdoms.

Storm Forts can be attacked 10 times and then they sink and pop up elsewhere. You will simply hit them along with the players in your area. It will let you know how many more attacks are available before it sinks.

Lastly if you are more the farmer player or you don't have a lot of troops you can still play an important role as a CBB, and convert Aqua into Cargo Points in your castle. In this role, you can drop from the alliance send a small attack to a 1 troop defended Resources Island and take over the capture and jump back in the alliance. Once you hold the Resource Island, the Aqua will return with you to your castle and go into your storage. There will be more on these functions in the strategy section of this event.

 Castle Set up:

Similar to building up in other kingdoms, your first building to upgrade should be the Storehouse. Although your castle will come with 3 Stone Quarries, 3 Wood Cutters, and 3 Farm Houses that are already built, you will still need to send over resources initially until you are self-sufficient. You really only need build up your Farm Houses, Storehouse, Siege Workshop, Barracks ( Level may vary ), and Keep.

Let me make this clear, your STORAGE is required to be upgraded to the amount of resources you will hold. It will be lost if your storage cannot hold the amount that you are bring back.

However, returns from RI are not limited by your normal storage limit.

The most important use of resources will be to stretch out your castle wall to the largest extent you can. The reason is you will need the space for Cargo Boats. Level 1 Cargo Boats should be built first until you have no more room for them.

The reason that Food is such an issue is you will not have space in your castle walls for Gardens and other decorations that will give you PO. You need this space for your Cargo Boats. Level 1 are the way to go which give you the most value for time spent and Aqua used.

Of course there is the option to build RUBY buildings. Bakery, Crane, Master Builder, Drill Grounds and upgraded Ship ( like Stables ) that you may find useful ( Watchtower, Firehouse, Stronghold - are also available but not necessary ), but remember if you are just a casual RUBY buyer or RUBY earner that the event resets each month and it's all washed away.

Below is the Harbor that you are given with the level 1 Ship. You can use RUBIEs to get a faster Ship.

Before you begin to upgrade your Cargo Boats to the next level you should demolish buildings you are not using. They give you one Dwelling and one Townhouse, I would get rid of all the Dwellings that you may have built for quests. You can demolish your Defense Workshop and Marketplace after all are built up in your area, in the group you are working with ( see Strategy )

Level 1 boats cost 150 Aquamarine and convert to   50 Cargo Points
Level 2 boats cost 490 Aquamarine and convert to 100 Cargo Points
Level 3 boats cost 950 Aquamarine and convert to 150 Cargo Points

These increase with each level so you want to fully build all the Level 1 Cargo Boats you can inside your castle before upgrading.

I cannot state more strongly that this is a TEAM event!

Rewards go to the Alliance Funds but, additionally, at the 90k mark, 1,550 Upgrade Tokens will be given to every player in the entire alliance ( that entered the event ). At the 160k mark, all players will receive 350 Construction Tokens. Finally, at the 200k mark, 35 Sceats will be given to every player.

Your first priority is to convert Aqua to Cargo Points. There is a store ( Luna's Trade Boat ) where you can spend your leftover Aqua on troops, tools and decorations and Coins. That is for you to use AFTER we have met our goal set or there is too much to convert ( that is, if you are about to have more Aqua than your Storehouse can normally hold ). And you need to use it because it will be GONE with the reset.

There is no saving up Aqua for the next time you enter.

Luna's Trade Boat is like other events stores, and you will see some of the same troops and tools, like those lovable Mock Peasants, if you buy some of those to help you occupy a Resource Island that it's all good. But if you are a CBB and not capturing your own Resource Island, that is not your Aqua to spend.

Troops and Tools
Because we don't attack players and they don't attack us, defenders are not necessary to bring over or recruit.

Depending on your Job Function ( see above ) you may want to limit your Barracks depending on what you intend to recruit. It sometimes is cheaper and faster to bring over troops then recruit them in Storm. Again this depends on how much attacking you will be doing. For quests, bringing over 20 troops is cheaper and faster than a low PO castle in Storm.

To keep the prices of shipping troops down, you should make all resource tools in your castle. Mantlets are the biggest tool in demand so you would want to have them handy. You can purchase armored and RUBY tools in the kingdom.

Strategy

We would like to group members into teams for maximum effectiveness in this event.

Each team would have a RIA ( Resource Island Attackers ) and a CBB ( Cargo Boat Builders ) and the rest would be SFA ( Fort Attackers ) who would build their own Cargo Boats.

It's been advised that smaller alliances skip entering the event on the first day. However, we have a veteran team that can enter on day one if they'd like. On day 2 or 3 day of the event, the next team should arrive and this way there will be some spacing between members but we will be close enough to still help each other out without bumping into each other.

Then about 4 or 5 days later all our teams should be entered into the event and get things going.

Lastly if you hadn't been leveled up at the beginning or inactive you should join before the event ends, especially if we get the 90k/160k rewards ( the Upgrade Tokens, Construction Tokens, and Sceats will be for every member of the alliance that is in the event ). YOU HAVE TO BE IN THE EVENT to get any of the rewards. Plus just completing building quests can get you Aqua and you can buy something at Luna's.
